Our iconic Cobra Cage® typically features 2-3 crossbars on the head, holding you secure. Some wearers with a PA piercing like to loop their PA around the bottom bar. However, depending on the exact size of the PA and the size of the cage, this bar can lead to pinching. Sometimes it can also make it difficult or impossible to put on the PA.
This On Demand modification removes the bottom crossbar.
Please note, this modification can make it easier to put on the cage with a PA, and it can help prevent pinching in the front-to-back direction. However, the width of the front opening will remain the same. For some people, skin can also get pinched sideways (left-to-right) between their PA and the C-shaped bars that form the main shape of the head.
PA compatibility
PA piercings up to 0 gauge (8 mm thickness) should be compatible with all* On Demand Cobra cages without the bottom crossbar.
*Note: The one exception is the Baby Cobra Narrow, which can accommodate up to 4 gauge (5 mm thickness), due to its smaller front opening.
